Attorney Jacobs wins important case in U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit: On July 6, 2007, the Fourth Circuit granted a petition for review filed by Ms. Jacobs on behalf of a Cameroonian national who had been denied asylum on grounds of credibility and failure to sustain his burden of proof on the issue of well founded fear of future persecution and past persecution. The court found that the arguments raised on appeal were of sufficient merit to justify a remand to the Board of Immigration Appeals. It is notoriously difficult to prevail on appeal at the Fourth Circuit, and this decision is therefore welcome news for the client and the firm.
